The International Journal of Mechanics and Structural Engineering (IJMS) is a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal devoted to research and developments in mechanics, structural engineering, structural analysis, design, materials, construction, and structural safety. The journal provides a forum for researchers, engineers, consultants, and academics to present original research, analytical and computational studies, experimental investigations, and significant developments in structural engineering.
The journal welcomes contributions addressing both established and emerging challenges in structural mechanics and engineering, with emphasis on rigorous analysis, innovative design approaches, practical applications, and developments that contribute to the advancement of structural engineering practice.
Aim and Scope: The journal covers a broad range of topics in mechanics and structural engineering, including, but not limited to:
Structural mechanics and structural analysis
Structural design and optimization
Steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, timber, and composite structures
Mechanical and physical properties of engineering materials
Computational mechanics and numerical methods
Finite element analysis and structural modelling
Structural dynamics, vibration, and stability
Earthquake and wind engineering
Structural reliability, risk assessment, and safety
Bridges, buildings, towers, transmission structures, and other civil infrastructure
Structural systems, connections, and load-bearing components
Innovative construction and fabrication methods
Structural health monitoring, assessment, and maintenance
Structural rehabilitation, strengthening, and retrofitting
Performance of structures under extreme loading and natural hazards
Failure analysis, damage assessment, and structural resilience
Sustainable and innovative approaches to structural engineering
Case studies of significant, innovative, or technically challenging structural projects
The journal also considers research addressing emerging methods, technologies, and interdisciplinary approaches that contribute to the analysis, design, construction, assessment, and safety of structural systems.

Types of Contributions
Research Articles: Research Articles should present original and substantive findings based on theoretical, computational, analytical, methodological, or experimental investigations. Manuscripts should provide sufficient description of the research methodology, analytical procedures, computational methods, experimental procedures, and results to permit appropriate scholarly evaluation and, where applicable, facilitate reproducibility.Short Communications: Short Communications are intended for concise reports of significant and well-defined research findings. They may present results from focused investigations, new models or hypotheses, innovative methods or techniques, or other developments of clear relevance to industrial engineering and technology. Their presentation may be more concise than that of a full Research Article while maintaining appropriate methodological and scholarly standards.
Review Articles: The journal welcomes Review Articles that provide systematic, critical, and well-structured examinations of significant developments in areas within the journal's scope. Reviews should synthesize relevant scholarly literature, identify established findings and areas of continuing investigation, and provide an informed assessment of the development of the subject. Review Articles are subject to the journal's peer-review process.
