Archiving Information

IRPH recognizes that the long-term preservation and continued accessibility of the scholarly record are important responsibilities of an academic publisher.

IRPH maintains a publisher-controlled digital archive of manuscripts and published journal content. Published articles, associated publication records, and relevant bibliographic information are retained within the publisher's digital publication and archival environment for long-term record maintenance.

IRPH employs multiple levels of digital storage and backup for its published scholarly content. Archival data are maintained through controlled storage arrangements with backup copies designed to reduce the risk of data loss arising from hardware failure, accidental deletion, technical disruption, or other operational events.

The publisher's archival practices include preservation of the published version of record together with relevant article-level publication information and metadata. Where technical migration or changes to the publishing platform become necessary, IRPH may migrate archived content and associated metadata to an appropriate successor environment in order to maintain continued access to the scholarly record.

The archival system is maintained as a separate responsibility from routine website presentation, recognizing that the continued preservation of published scholarly content should not depend solely upon the availability of a particular website interface.

IRPH periodically reviews its digital storage and backup arrangements as part of its responsibility for maintaining the continuity and integrity of its published records.

Authors and readers should note that publisher-level digital preservation does not imply that a journal is automatically deposited in every external third-party preservation service or national repository. Where external preservation arrangements are established for a particular journal, the relevant service and policy will be identified separately.
